日本では幼稚園や小学校で「おかしも」という言葉を習います。
In Japan, children learn the word 「おかしも」 in kindergarten and elementary school.
実は、これは災害(注1)や事故などが起きたときに、安全に避難するための注意を一つにした言葉です。
Actually, this is a word that brings together precautions for safely evacuating when disasters (note 1) or accidents occur.
「押さない、駆けない(注2)、しゃべらない(注3)、戻らない」という四つの言葉の始めのひらがなを並べたものです。
It is formed by lining up the initial hiragana of the four phrases: 'Don't push, don't run (note 2), don't talk (note 3), don't go back.'
小学校で一年に何度も行われる避難訓練では、教室を出て校庭に逃げる練習をするのですが、そのとき子どもたちが素早く避難できるように、先生は「「おかしも」ですよ。」と何度も声をかけます。
During the evacuation drills held several times a year at elementary schools, students practice leaving their classrooms and evacuating to the schoolyard; at those times, teachers repeatedly call out, 'It's 「おかしも」,' so the children can evacuate quickly.
一年に何度も、避難訓練のたびにこの言葉を耳にするので、日本の子どもたちで「おかしも」の意味を知らない子どもはいないほどです。
Because they hear this word many times each year at every evacuation drill, so much so that there are virtually no Japanese children who don't know the meaning of 「おかしも」.
本当に何かがあったときには、この訓練で「おかしも」を身につけたおかげで子どもたちはこわがったりあわてたりせずに冷静に避難できるというわけです。
If something really happens, thanks to having learned 「おかしも」 in these drills, the children are able to evacuate calmly without becoming frightened or panicked.
「おかしも」は子どもたちを安全に避難させるために考えられた工夫なのでです。
「おかしも」 is a measure devised to help children evacuate safely.
