～まま

～まま

Usage:

動詞（どうし）のタ形（けい）

Meaning:

本来（ほんらい）は～しなければならないのに、～しない状態（じょうたい）で
Basically cannot do it, but because of the state of not doing...

Example:

1.  クーラーをつけたまま寝（ね）て、かぜをひいてしまった。
     Because I slept with the air conditioner on, I caught a cold.

2.  「日本（にほん）ではくつをはいたまま家（いえ）に入（はい）ってはいけません」
     In Japan, you shouldn't wear shoes like that inside the house.

3.  果物（くだもの）を食（た）べようと思（おも）って買（か）ってきたのに、冷蔵庫（れいぞうこ）に入（い）れたまま忘（わす）れてしまった。
     I bought fruit intending to eat it but forgot and left it in the fridge.

4.  ＊「あれ、この時計（とけい）、止（と）まったままだ」
     Oh, this clock stopped.
