~よう[比ゆ]
Comparison◎ 「Xのよう」 represents that something resembles another something (X).「女の子のよう」 means " Is actu-ally a boy but looks like a girl."
1. この パンは すごく かたくて、石の ようです。
This bread is so hard it is like a rock.
2. ゆめの ように 楽しい 毎日でした。
Those days were so fun they were like a dream.
◎ There are cases where 「よう」 is placed after the plain form of a verb to represents the same meaning.
1. すごく つかれて いたので、けさは 死んだ ように ねむって いました。
I was very tired, so I was sleeping like I was dead this morning.

Form ~◎ Used to state a nature or trait naturally held by a person or thing that is strongly felt.
1. あの 子は 言う ことが おとなの ようで、子ども らしくない。
That child speaks like an adult and seems very not child-like.
2. 今日は、春らしい服が ほしくて、デパートに 行きました。
I wanted spring-like clothes today and so I went to the department store.
