Explanation
Strongly asserts the speaker's conjecture: 'certainly...', without doubt
Examples
That has to be a lie. I can't believe it.
The opponent is a professional, so of course they're strong.
If I say I want to leave home, my father will definitely object.
There's no way I can finish this job by the end of today.
Note
1) Easily confused with ~に違いない. → ~に決まっている is a very strong assertion, with the feeling 'of course'.2) Usually used in speech, subjective. → Conveys decisiveness, sometimes imposes conviction.3) Not used when certainty is low. → For 'probably', use ~だろう/~かもしれない.
