～へ「方向（ほうこう）・方角（ほうがく）」

orientation/ direction

◎ 「へ」indicates the direction of movement. It is similar to「に」, but「に」indicates a ppoint of arrival.

1. 来週（らいしゅう）の　土（ど）よう日（び）、京都（きょうと）へ行（い）きます。
I'm going to kyoto next Saturday.

2. 京都（きょうと）の　友（とも）だちの家（いえ）に　行（い）きます。
I'm going to my friend in Kyoto's house.

～を「経路（けいろ）」

Path

◎ The path of verbs that indicate movement such as「とおる」is represented by「N＋を」.

1. 大（おお）きなとりが空（そら）を　とんでいます。（とびます）
There is a large bird flying in the sky.

2. こうえんの中（なか）をさんぽしました。（さんぽします）
I took a walk inside the park.

3. びょういんに行（い）くとき、この　はしをわたります。（わたります）
When you go to the hospital, you cross over a brige.

◎ 「など」represents "and other similar things."

1. 食（た）べ物（もの）や飲（の）みものなどを買（か）いました。
I bought food, drinks, and so on.

2. はこの中（なか）には、本（ほん）やノートなどが入（はい）っていました。
There were books notebooks, and so inside the box.

うみへ行（い）く　ときは、川（かわ）の　そばの　ほそい　道（みち）を　とおります。駅（えき）や　デパート　など　へ　行（い）く　ときは、車（くるま）が　たくさん　はしる　道（みち）をとおります。

☞ Translation

うみへ行（い）く　ときは、川（かわ）の　そばの　ほそい　道（みち）を　とおります。

When going to the sea, you go by way of a narrow street to the side of the river.

駅（えき）や　デパート　など　へ　行（い）く　ときは、車（くるま）が　たくさん　はしる　道（みち）をとおります。

When going to the department store and other places, you go by way of a street that many cars drive down.
